LEARNING TECHNOLOGY COACHES


What is it?

Learning Technology Coaches support the implementation of learning technology tools as the University of Calgary community adapts to online and blended teaching.


Who is it for?

All instructors at the University of Calgary.


What can it do?

Coaches are available to provide hands-on support to academic staff with their courses, including integrating new learning technologies.

Support they offer but is not limited to:
  • Developing a D2L course shell (creating discussion boards, setting up the grades tool, and organizing content) 
  • Setting up quizzes, rubrics and Dropbox for course assignments
  • Recording lectures in YuJa or PowerPoint
  • Assisting instructors in scheduling and running Zoom sessions (troubleshooting issues, scheduling, recording, and creating breakout groups)
  • Creating resources, materials, and guides for using learning technology tools
  • Providing orientation to learning technology for students at the start of a course
  • Managing your course through Top Hat
