EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING - TRANSITIONING FROM HANDS-ON TO ONLINE

What is it?

Transitioning experiential learning (EL) activities from in-person to online will depend on the aims and EL activities of the course. This resource by the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary provides considerations for transfering EL activities online.

Who is it for?

Instructors at the University of Calgary.

What can it do?

The following questions and conciderations can assist in adapting EL activites from in-person to online:

  • Which aims are achieved through an EL activity?
  • How will students access and reflect on these activities?
  • How will students demonstrate what they learned and receive feedback on their learning?

Further considerations:

  • Problem-based learning
  • Case-based learning
  • Project-based learning
  • Inquiry-based learning
  • Reflection in online EL

  • Reflection in online EL
