ZOOM - POSITIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS (UofC)

What is it?

The Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning provides information and resources for setting up positive learning environments in Zoom.

Who is it for?

Faculty and staff at the University of Calgary.

What can it do?

These guidlines provided by the Taylor Institutue are meant to generate ideas and discussions about engaging students in the Zoom classroom.

Lack of participation:
  • How do I get students to speak up when I ask a question or invite discussion?

A chaotic classroom:
  • How do I ensure that students share the airtime?

Getting off track:
  • How do I prevent distractions and keep students focused during the class?

Uneven participation and opportunities:
  • How do I create and maintain equitable Zoom spaces?

Is it University Approved?

These resources are provided by the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary.
