Profiles

Mac McGinn
Mac concludes his position with TALON upon completing his M2 year of the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program. Mac obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and International Business from Mount Royal University. After which he worked in Business Development for 5 years. His role in TALON was primarily research and website development while conducting some of the TALON interviews. Mac is interesting and motivated by the power of architecture to be solution driven by shaping how we think and feel about the world and set the stage for social behaviors.


Asawari Modak
Asawari is a soon to be Planner from the School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture at the University of Calgary. Her background & experience is in Architecture. Through her work in the public and private sector of Calgary, Turkey and her internships in India and Kenya, she has explored various aspects of architecture, planning, and urban design projects in different parts of the world. She aims for equity at the core of all her designs and wants to create cities that are accessible, environmentally friendly, and vibrant. At TALON, she worked on social media narrative development & engagement to portray TALON content and maximize its potential.


Marshall Evens
Marshall joins TALON while entering his last year of the Masters of Architecture (M.Arch) program. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Mount Royal University, after which he worked in finance for six years as a Financial Advisor before returning to school to pursue his creative passion of architecture. While entering his final year of the architecture program he is excited to see the possibilities that computational design, processing, and manufacturing will have in the future.


Martina MacFarlane
Martina is a graduating Planner and researcher at the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. She was born in Vancouver, lived and learned in a number of different Canadian cities, and came to call Alberta home, completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Since then, she has been involved in community arts projects and instruction, as well as social innovation and research projects in inclusive and affordable housing, community safety, and teaching and learning in the design disciplines. On the TALON team, Martina conducts some of the Expert Voices interviews and she runs the writing, editing and delivery of the now monthly collaborative TALON Letter.
